The 3000er-Serie von Commodore was the successor of the Commodore PET 2001. This series possessed a set of detail improvements, which concerned the inserted basic and the operating system beside a correct typewriter-similar keyboard. Due to the keyboard grown now the inserted Datasette was paged out as accessory equipment. In the hardware that was changed over RAM to dynamic chips, therefore within the anglo-saxon range also the pointed name dynamic PET.

The name PET (personnel electronics Transactor) had to be changed in Europe from mark-legal creating in CBM (Commodore Business Mashines).

There were the following models:

• CBM 3001 (European model of the PET 2001)
• CBM 3008/16/32 (easily revised version 3001 with 8, 16 or 32 KB memory)
