Certifying the company Cisco offers the possibility to network technicians and system attendants, standardized training courses and examinations to complete. In such a way acquired certificates certify the participant knowledge within strictly defined ranges. The certificates apply only to limited time, as a rule must after three years an examination be put down again, in order to extend the validity. Such a certificate can be attitude criterion with the search for suitable applicants for a place in the network technology.

With the certificate special rights are connected, which serve often also as incentive for the participation in the liable to pay the costs examinations. E.g. exist. Panels and information platforms in the Internet, to which one receives entrance only with a valid certificate number. Besides the graduate receives the authorization to indicate the appropriate title in his contact contacts.

With the general certificates Cisco offers three level of certifying (Associate, Professional, internetwork Expert) and differentiates thereby between six different fields of application (e.g. Routing & Switching, network security, network planning). Besides exist still certificates for special individual specialist areas, which are not hierarchical layout.

CCNA (Cisco Certified network Associate)

CCNP (Cisco Certified network Professional)

CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional)

CCIP (Cisco Certified internetwork Professional)

This certificate corresponds to the CCNP for the field of application Serviceprovider.

CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional)

This certificate corresponds to the CCNP for the field of application network security.

Around the status of the CCSP to reach one must possess a valid CCNA certifying and the following examinations placings:

• Securing Cisco IOS network
• Cisco Secure PIX Firewall Advanced
• Cisco Secure intrusion Detection system
• Cisco Secure VPN
• Cisco SAFE implementation

CCVP (Cisco Certified Voice Professional)

This certificate corresponds to the CCNP for the field of application VoIP (Voice of over IP).

CCIE (Cisco Certified internetwork Expert)

This certificate represents the highest Cisco certification stage, with whose reaching the participant outstanding abilities within the network range are certified. The participants must successfully exist a written and a practical test. The requirements of these tests are very high, therefore the owners of this certificate are considered as experts in network range with the CCIE certificate between different ranges are quite differentiated. At present there is the CCIE for the ranges to Routing & Switching, Security, service Provider, STORAGE Networking and Voice.

Differently than most Cisco certifying the CCIE title must be rezertifiziert every two years by means of written examination.

CCSI (Certified Cisco Systems Instructor)

The coaches authorized by the company Cisco Systems carry this title. Official trainings of the company Cisco Systems may be held only from in such a way certified coaches. The participants must reach at least the CCNA certificate with particularly good achievements and furnish a training sample in English language.
