CLIST (COMMAND cunning) is a script language for TSO on IBM large computers.

Beside pure TSO to instructions exist variables, enquiry options and conditioned jumps. The syntax is inflexible, variable must always with one "“&"” begin, stringer handling functions as &SUBSTR or &STRING begins likewise with "“&"”.

CLISTs must lie at the run time in in the SYSPROC Konkatinierung existing Partitioned DATA set.

CLIST is considered today as outdated and in practice above all to REXX as Scriptsprache under TSO is used. CLIST knowledge is only necessary if old CLISTs must be cared for, or if, as for example on a Hercules system no REXX is available.
