Here it concerns a series of IBM-compatible PCs von Commodore, who was sold starting from center of the 80's-years into the 90's-years. They were designed in the Braunschweiger development department.

With this computer family Commodore was offered a few years long a head on head running with IBM around the market leader shank within the PC range in Germany, typically changed the guidance from month to month. As high point one reached it that after the turn all offices of the German Federal Railroads in East Germany were equipped with Commodore PCs.

PC-10 and PC-20

These computers were favorable alternatives to the IBM-PC and starting from 1985 were produced. They were characterised by good equipment, robustness, a compatibility and an expandability. They were equipped with Intel 8088 with 4.77 MHz (expandable with Intel 8087-Coprozessor), 256 KB RAM (expandable on 640 KB), two 5-1/4 " - dd drive assemblies and a 10-MT non removable disk (only PC-20). Further the computer could be well extended due to the five existing ISA card locations. It could be indicated only CGA and Hercules diagram (AGA map). Particularly in Europe these models sold themselves very well.

Since the motherboard was developed in Braunschweig on own CBM-8000-Rechnern with the help of the own 8000er-Grafikplatine and so that only a certain plate size was controllable, the plate in two halves had to be divided, which were plugged together.

PC-30

A version of the PC-20 with 20-MT non removable disk.

PC-10 II, PC-20 II

Practically the same devices, only with a revised, constant motherboard (Combined board) and with the PC-20 II with 20-MT non removable disk, no more PC-30.

PC-1

The answer of Commodore to the PC1 von Atari: A PC-10 in a ultrakompakten housing with a floppy disk drive and an individual ISA card location on a Riser map, for a non removable disk one needed second, equal large housing with an external interwiring. Not very successfully and soon again adjusted.

PC-10 III, PC-20 III

The same architecture, only substantially more compactly built.

PC-40 to PC-70

Here it concerns IBM-compatible PCs with 286er, 386er and 486ern, starting from PC-60 in the Tower housing and with a bought to go with motherboard, which exhibit no characteristic.

Only complete foreign makes, usually from Taiwan, became still later when sells Commodore PC. With them was no longer as high in view of close becoming market and the increasing competition by Discounter such as Vobis and Escom the yield as before.
