The DAI was a personnel computer, at that time still home computer and/or home computer mentioned, the Belgian company Data Applications international from the year 1980. The DAI was at the beginning a very efficient computer, which was offered however too expensively at the market, so that it could not succeed in the spreading.
The hardware of the DAI of computer was based on 8080 A microprocessor and was laid out as single-board computers. The futuristic white housing contained at that time a keyboard high-quality for conditions. As mass storage a tape recorder was used. The DAI could be attached to commercial televisions and had already a Farbgrafik. Dynamic RAM (max. 48 KiB) is divided into three separate storage areas (MEMORY bank), the 0, 4 KiB or 16 KiB main memories contained. Furthermore the DAI possessed five programmable interval timers, two external interrupts and two serial I/O interrupts. As interfaces RS-232 and parallel an interface (DCE bus of DATA Applications) were present.
Additionally if necessary a AMD 9511 mathematics chip could be re-tooled.
