Elrad - magazine for electronics and technical computer application was a popular technical periodical for electronics. It appeared of November 1977 to June 1997 in the publishing house Heinz Heise and of November 1997 until August 1998 in the break man publishing house. 1992 came up the magazine "the electronics engineer" in it.
Out of the Elrad went 1983 the magazine c't out, which had appeared first under the title "computing today" as supplement to the Elrad. The magazine made itself a name by publications over single chip Microprozessoren, in addition, prepared basic articles with understandable and solid over all fields of electronics.
In the middle of 1997 was sold the title to the break man publishing house GmbH. Under the new roof first the distribution of the first new expenditure and also the contentwise quality retarded diminished strongly. The break man publishing house could the magazine only until August 1998 resume and had thereafter bankruptcy announce.
Since the rights at the title of the magazine are further with break man and the publishing house Heinz Heise seems to have no more interest at them, this meant the end of the formerly large magazine. The Heise publishing house holds the Domain elrad.de and since 2001 also a mark entry "ELRAD magazine for electronics and technical computer applications" with the German patent and office for mark of 2005 for two DVD with contents of the numbers 11/1977 06/1997 appeared.
