A Ethernet wiring box (EAD) is with a coaxial Ethernet wiring an alternative substantially reliable in service to the usual T-fittings.
The EAD resembles outwardly a TAE box for the telephone, plug and socket is however differently coded, in order to avoid a mistake. The EAD internally exhibits two connections for Koax cables usual with Thin Ethernet. To a EAD in each case two computers can be attached by means of special EAD cables. When putting in only a very short interruption of the network segment takes place, so that this can normally take place contrary to the use of T-fittings also during operation without disturbances.
Although the EAD cable looks outward like a simple extension, it works like a T-fitting, actually consists of two coaxial cables and forms thus a loop. Thus the cable length network segment with each patched EAD cable by the double length of the cable is extended.
