1994 are standardized FDDI-2 by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and guarantee a reliable transport in real time (also with full video signal and 24 Frames per second). FDDI-2 is thus particularly suitable for the transmission of continuous data. The large problem that FDDI systems cannot be attached to the FDDI-2-LAN, did not contribute insignificantly to the fact that FDDI-2 is displaced later by B-ISDN and AT.
