In the year 1999 the again created company GamePark developed so-called mobile DEVICEs, which should be established in the Handy and communication market. From the initial development attempts however completely different concept crystallized outside, which resulted into the GP32. The GP32 represents an alternative to the Game Boy Advance, since this is not limited to pure playing, but would like the possibility above all to hobby developers to offer to develop on it. The developer kit is therefore free of charge and freely to the Download available, GamePark offered to the developers in the past also a sales platform, if they wanted to sell their own plays.

Gamepark of getting thing divides 2005 Gamepark presents the GP2X and Gamepark the XGP into 2 companies, Gamepark and Gamepark of getting thing.
The GP32 lives particularly because of the large and friendly scene. Many free programs, plays and applications are to be found on the Handheld, among other things the well-known SCUMM interpreter ScummVM.
A further plus of the GP32 is the possibility, almost all 8 - and 16-Bit-Spielekonsolen of the 80's and 90's of emulating, so e.g. for Colecovision, Atari 2600, Amstrad CPC, SEGA megadrive, Game Gear, Nintendo NES, Game Boy, PC engine, Atari Lynx, Wonderswan and still many different (in such a way also on a Game Boy Advance emulator one works). Besides there is emulators for at the beginning of the 80's likewise published 8-bits computers, e.g. the C64 or the MSX, and even the popular Arcade emulator MAME was portiert on the GP32. In addition it is in a the position to play an immense number at music formats among other things MP3, OGG, MOD, XM or also SID and is suitable thus outstanding as milling one replacement. As this small Handheld possesses the possibility, DivX or Xvid coded themselves films to look at.
The scene is particularly in Spain, France and England active. Even meetings and smaller Conventions were already organized in these countries.
Particularly from the fan municipality of the Game Boy Advance came harsh, but superficial criticism. Many regarded the GP32 as bad copy and found the Game Boy Advance "better". But technically seen this is not correct. Both at the processor achievement, the size of the display, the capacity of the storage media and further points the Game Boy Advance (inclusive FR) pulls clearly the shorter. Which many to the statement "GBA is better!" to come, is the play offer leaves. The GBA has a very large library at plays, large support of considerable companies and a very broad group of buyers. Although it seems at first sight in such a way - all of this does not want to reach GamePark with the GP32. The GBA and GP32 serve different target groups: the GBA is meant for pure users (players), while the GP32 addresses itself to an technology-inspired public, in particular Homebrew developer and a demo Scener.
