The IMSAI 8080 Microcomputer, manufactured since 1975 of the US firm of CIM Associates, Inc. (the company in "IMSAI Manufacturing Corp became later." ) in former times an Intel 8080, S-100-Bus of based computers, that was renamed was compatible with its strongest competitor, the MITS old air 8800.
The IMSAI used a strongly changed version of the operating system CP/M with the name IMDOS.
The price of the kit amounted to at the beginning of 439 US-$, however because of the large demand to 599 $ was increased.
Since the IMSAI was compatible to 100 % with the OLD AIR 8800, technical DATA ILS correspond to this computer. Contrary to the MITS computer the IMSAI had differently Design (large red and blue switches), as well as a stronger power pack.
