The JavaStation is a network computer (numerical control), which was manufactured between 1996 and 2000 by Sun Microsystems.

The hardware is based on the Design of the Sun SPARCstation, a very successful network architecture of UNIX workstations from the 80's 20. Century. Numerical control-typically computer components are missing such as disk, non removable disk and CD-ROM-Laufwerke.Es are with priority used PC standard components: Connections for keyboard and mouse (PS/2), connection for monitor with VGA, use of SIMM/DIMM RAM.

As operating system of Sun the own JavaOS was supplied, which essentially makes the virtual machine available (VM) for Suns Java. Touching down on it Java programs, e.g. the HotJava Browser can run. It can be used in addition, Linux on the JavaStation.
