LightTPD (also: Lighty) is a Web server of which of January Kneschke was developed. It implements all important functions of a Web server and can by modules, similarly as Apache, be extended. It causes only a small MEMORY Footprint nevertheless and takes less CCU up time than other Web servers. PHP is tied up by means of nearly cgi.

LightTPD spreads according to NetCraft fast. Some large and well-known web pages such as penny of Arcade or ImageShack.us set already on LightTPD.
