The Linux magazine is a technical periodical, which is published by the Linux new Media AG. It contacts readers, that work professionally under the operating system Linux. The Linux magazine is the secondaryoldest magazine over Linux in Germany. The first expenditure appeared in October 1994 as newspaper of the DELUG. The Slogan of the magazine reads "„the magazine for Linux Professionals "“.

Feature way

The magazine appears monthly on each first Thursday of a monthly. An expenditure costs 5.50 EUR in Germany, 6.30 EUR in Austria and 11.00 in the retail trade since the expenditure 11/2004 sfr in Switzerland. Quarterly a special edition with special topics is published such as network, security or hardware. It costs 9.80 "€.

Contents

The Linux magazine addresses itself particularly to professional Linux users. Each month central topics of interest are treated. These originate from different ranges of the Linux surrounding field: Applications of Internet, programming, security, etc.

Besides there still some columns, which are represented in each booklet, is firm:

  • Up-to-date: News from the Linux world
  • Numbers and trends
  • Zacks Kernel news
  • InSecurity news of Marks of Vogelsberger
  • Good GNU World

To mention it is that the Linux magazine is the only German-language magazine, which reports on messages from the safety surrounding field monthly. Responsibly for this Mark is Vogelsberger, which already takes over this task there for over 5 years together with Achim Leitner.

Further magazines

From the column LinuxUser developed the magazine of the same name, which contacts final users. Also the magazine is driven out by the same publishing house easyLinux, which particularly addresses itself to Linux Einsteiger without previous knowledge.
