LinuxUser is a German computer journal for Linuxbenutzer from the publishing house of the Linux new Media AG, which publishes also the Linux magazine. It appears since January 2000. First as special edition, afterwards regularly since June 2000. LinuxUser concerns itself mainly with the field use of Linux and predominantly addresses themselves contrary to the Linux magazine to final users.

Feature way

The magazine appears on each third Thursday of a monthly. An expenditure costs 5.50 EUR in Germany, 6.30 EUR in Austria and 11.00 in the retail trade since the expenditure 11/2004 sfr in Switzerland. Quarterly a special edition with special topics is published such as network, security or hardware. It costs 9.80 euro.

Editor-in-chief

Editor-in-chief was until Octobers 2004 Hans George Esser, Luther is its successor.

Added

With the production of the LinuxUser expenditures mainly free software is used. Only for the layout a component is used: Adobe InDesign on Mac OS X. the booklet CD is gemastert and burned with mkisofs/cdrecord.
