A Notebook [] (English notebook - note book), laptop (English laptop - "„on the lap "“) or also folding computer, sometimes also mobile computer mentioned, is a small, portable microcomputer.

Etymologie

A laptop is a mobile computer, which finds on the lap place. End of the eighties introduced Toshiba the term Notebook, in order particularly compact and light (like a note book) devices better marked out to be able. In the meantime the terms in the German linguistic area are however synonymously used.

In recent time every now and then also the term folding computer is used as the further synonym and can be understood than expression of the modesty in view of in such a manner hochtechnologisierten equipment.

Notebooktypen

Notebooks usually weigh between 700 g (Sub Notebook) and 5 kg (Desknote) and are therefore as electronic note book or as adequate, compact personal computer to be used.

Comparison with Desktop PCs

Also different manufacturers such as Chaintech had such devices in the offer. Durable Notebooks

For application in particularly rauer environment or under climatically adverse conditions the Ruggedized Notebooks in such a way specified was thought. There are Fully of ruggedized devices, those completely protected from external influences are and Semi ruggedized Notebooks, which resist only partly determined adversities, so for instance splash-water on the keyboard or falls from some dozen centimeters height.
