The Risc PC is a RISC computer of the company Acorn. As its predecessor, who it possesses Acorn Archimedes ARM a CCU and becomes with the operating system RISC OS in the versions 3,5 - 4 operated. The first Risc PC was introduced 1994 with ARM610, with up to 30 MHz, and one year later with ARM710, with up to 40 MHz. 1996 followed the Risc PC with clearly faster StrongARM.

The Risc PC series was in many respects durchdacht:

  • a basic version of the operating system is stored in exchangeable ROM modules, so that the computer can be started also without non removable disk
  • the system possesses two Slots for processor plug-in cards, which makes it possible to rig problem-free on newer processors and to in-add and than "“embedded PC"” operate e.g. as secondary CCU a Intel processor
  • the housing is screw-free to wait modular developed and very easily

The official Risc PC successor "“Phoebe"” was never finished by Acorn. In the year 2000 the Risc appeared PC Kinetic with StrongARM, RISC OS 4 and memory on the CCU map.
