Small form factor Pluggable (SFP) are small standardized modules for network connections.

SFP are a specification of a new generation of modular optical Transceivern. This equipment are as connecting plugs for extremely fast network connections designed. The specification is defined for up to 5 Gbs (Gigabit/second). SFP can be exchanged very fast, so that networks upgegraded to become simple to be able.

Depending upon Leitungstyp (multi-mode or single mode), wavelength (850 Nm, 1300 Nm, 1550 Nm or CWDM), data rate or range the SFPs is available in most different remarks. SFPs also copper-based is available for Pan Dacom of products.
