SmartPad is a Tool for PDAs, driven out by Seiko of instrument. It consists large bag of one approx. A4, in which on the left side a normal A5 block is clasped, where under it a kind "“digitization board"” is. With a special pin each line, which is drawn on the paper, is seized, and on an infrared diode, those on the right side festgeklammert is spent above. Under it the PDA is fastened directly, which receives then an accurate copy of the written/drawn as digital copy.

Almost all PDAs with infrared is supported, which run either with the operating system Palm or Windows CE. A further characteristic is the external keyboard, which hides itself under the note pad: It is a kind external keyboard for the PDA, which one can serve with the provided pin.

The SmartPad is supplied with two AAA batteries, the pin with a AAAA battery. In addition with the SmartPad three reserve mines for the pin are provided; the block is a completely normal A5 block, as one can buy it in addition in each paper specialist shop.

A similar product, which supports however also Notebooks, is likewise sold by Seiko of instrument: InkLink.
